Why We Like This Game
This is a physical exercise that requires contact with other people without transgressing boundaries. Although some people may not enjoy physical contact, squeezing hands in a group can help people connect with each other. Pulse is a go-to pre-show activity for getting people to come together as a group.
Objective
To pass a pulse within a group
Instructions
- Ask participants to stand in a circle.
- Ask participants to hold hands with the person standing next to them.
- Ask participants to pass a “pulse” by squeezing the other person’s hand when they receive a squeeze from someone.
- Begin the game by squeezing the hand of a person next to you.
Tip
- Once the group is successful, switch directions, add pulses in both directions, and/or change the pulse patterns.
