Why We Like This Game
This is a physical activity that is fun for large groups. Many people already know how to do the wave because it is done in sporting events. The wave is an excellent example of getting non-theatre people involved in an improv activity: at a stadium spectators may be unwilling to join in at first but will then participate because it’s fun and looks visually interesting.
