TOM: I walked into the woods yesterday and I saw a red fox run across the path in front of me.
RAE: I followed the fox hoping that they wouldn’t notice me.
LINDA: I was successful for all of two seconds.
TOM: The fox out-foxed my chase but I saw him enter a small hole in the ground. I waited by the hole for a while.
RAE: It started to get dark, and I really wanted to see the fox come out with the hole again.
LINDA: So I continued waiting.
TOM: I built a small fire to warm myself and give myself light.
RAE: At this point, I saw the fox’s nose and whiskers merge out of the small hole.
LINDA: Behind the red fox were three tiny foxes.
TOM: The four of them walked past the fire, and then took off up the hill away from me and my cozy fire.
RAE: At this point I had followed the foxes to a fork in the road.
TOM: Should I put out my fire like a good responsible citizen, or was it going to follow the foxes up the hill?
LINDA: I decided to flip a coin.
TOM: I took some dirt and put out the little fire and stomped on it.
RAE: After I shoveled a bit more dirt on the fire and then it was safe. I walked up the hill after the foxes where the sky was purple and beautiful.
LINDA: The foxes were sitting there waiting for me.
